Manufacturing Day 2022

Mfg Day 2022 events included live and virtual presentations, facility tours, and youth educational opportunities, plus a competition that asked students to find solutions to local business challenges while introducing them to local industries and companies.  A return to in-person events was welcomed this year after pandemic-year events were forced to be held virtually.

This is what took place in October of 2022:

  • Friday, Oct. 7, Las Vegas ~ Facility tour of Old Wood for students of Rio Gallinas School of Ecology and the Arts.
  • Thursday, Oct. 13, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, Albuquerque ~ Fundamentals of Lean Manufacturing workshop at New Mexico MEP Albuquerque Training Center.
  • Thursday, Oct. 13, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm ~ Expert Connections in Manufacturing featuring free 30-minute consulting sessions with Rick Thomson hosted by Santa Fe Business Incubator.
  • Thursday, Oct. 13, 4:00 – 5:00 pm, Velarde (near Espanola) ~ Tour of Black Mesa Winery & Cidery.
  • Friday, Oct. 14, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm, Albuquerque ~ WESST Holiday Pop-up Shop featuring client artists and craftspeople.
  • Friday, Oct. 14, 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Santa Fe ~ Open House at Fab Lab Hub at the Santa Fe Higher Education Center (HEC) featuring tours and demonstrations of the 3D Printing Prototype Lab, 1950 Siringo Road, Santa Fe. Repeats on Friday, Oct. 28.

  • Tuesday, Oct. 18, 9:00 am – 12:00 pm, Santa Fe ~ Patent:ly Office Hours featuring 45-minute sessions with patent attorney Victor Johnson, hosted virtually by Santa Fe Business Incubator.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 18, 1:00 to 5:00 pm, Farmington ~ Problem Solving using Rapid Kata and Continuous Improvements: Workshop by New Mexico MEP. Download Flyer. 
  • Wednesday, Oct. 19 ~ Facility tour of Sandia Science & Technology Park technology companies, including BlueHalo, Industrial Inspection & Analysis (IIA), MicroNet Solutions Inc. (MSI), and SolAero By RocketLab, for students of Technology Leadership High School.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 19, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Rio Communities (near Los Lunas) ~ Open house at Valencia County Business Incubator featuring resident businesses and local manufacturers, along with coffee and donuts at 9:00 am, food and refreshments at 12:30 pm, and speakers at 2:30 pm. 
  • Thursday, Oct. 20, 1:30 to 3:00 pm, Virtual ~ Cyber Security for the Small Business workshop presented by SBDC and New Mexico MEP.
  • Friday, Oct. 21, 9:30 am and 2:30 pm, Jarales (near Belen) ~ Public tours of Valencia Flour Mill.
