MEP clients who need help resolving issues with products and processes in areas such as but not limited to additive manufacturing, robotics, biosciences, calibrations, and laboratory accreditations can leverage the MEP-Assisted Technology and Technical Resource (MATTR) program.
The program offers access to wide-ranging, world-class technical expertise available at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) research labs, and MATTR may cover some or all of the costs associated with any research work done at NIST on behalf of the MEP client.
Examples of challenges MATTR can help resolve:
- Quality and measurement practices, including calibrations or special measurement services
- How to adopt and integrate new developments to existing technologies such as robotics
- Understanding entirely new approaches to manufacturing such as those enabled by the Digital Thread in Manufacturing / Industry 4.0
NIST research in these and numerous other areas can help small and medium-sized manufacturers reduce production costs and time-to-market of manufactured goods.
Contact NM MEP if you would like to find out more about the MATTR program.
