The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs award more than $2.5 billion in research & development investment dollars to businesses across the U.S. every year. The funds allow businesses to move their idea or innovation to commercial markets while retaining the rights to their product. Eleven federal agencies participate in the SBIR program and five of those participate in the STTR program.
New Mexico MEP clients were awarded almost $3.5 million of 2022 fiscal year awards made by the U.S. Department of Energy.
